Umbrella Rain Lights for the Burning Man festival in Nevada.
Kurt Perschke's RedBall. This ball travels the world, the idea behind it is to change spectators of art into participants. He says the project's true essence is all about the collective imagination and invitation to engage. People have approached him, asking when it will come to their city. The RedBall started out in London, and has since showed up in places like Abu Dhabi, Barcelona, Chicago, Portland, Toronto, Sydney and Taipei.
Michael Hill's Forgotten Songs in Sydney, Australia. The 180 empty birdcages play the songs of 50 birds that once lived in central Sydney. It is said to be a magical experience.
Stacked Chairs between two buildings. 1550 Chairs were used to create this unusual installation in Istanbul, Turkey.
Cameroon artist Pascale Marthine Tayou created the Reverse City for one of the largest festivals in the world, the Echigo-Tsumari in Niigata, Japan. The name of a country is written on each pencil, simulating a colourful world index.
Pergola. Designers Claude Cormier and associates created thisfor the Biennale of Contemporary Art using 90 000 plastic balls to shape Wisteria hanging flowers, frequently used by Monet. Signifying this flower's role in French impressionism, this installation was exhibited in Havre City Hall, France.
Although criticised as mundane and overrated, this creative pool noodle 'wall' in Quebec City created quite a stir. It was created by Les Astronautes as part of an architectural installation called Delirious Frites.
Phone Cabinet Aquarium, Japan, created by a group of young Japanese artists who call themselves Kingyobu.
Creativity is a gift. I loved being a participator instead of a spectator.
