Lockdown 570

Lockdown Day 570 - 17 October 2021
Sunday number 82. Today's image focus is on art installations around the world
Enjoy!

The first one above is in Paris.
From here on each image description will be below the applicable image.

Umbrella Rain Lights for the Burning Man festival in Nevada.

Lamp Urban art in Rue de Mail, Paris.

Kurt Perschke's RedBall. This ball travels the world, the idea behind it is to change spectators of art into participants. He says the project's true essence is all about the collective imagination and invitation to engage. People have approached him, asking when it will come to their city. The RedBall started out in London, and has since showed up in places like Abu Dhabi, Barcelona, Chicago, Portland, Toronto, Sydney and Taipei.

Michael Hill's Forgotten Songs in Sydney, Australia. The 180 empty birdcages play the songs of 50 birds that once lived in central Sydney. It is said to be a magical experience.

Dream Tower in Daegu, South Korea.

Stacked Chairs between two buildings. 1550 Chairs were used to create this unusual installation in Istanbul, Turkey.

Flurstücke 011 festival in Munster, Germany.

Nils Udo's Bird Nest in France.

Cameroon artist Pascale Marthine Tayou created the Reverse City for one of the largest festivals in the world, the Echigo-Tsumari in Niigata, Japan. The name of a country is written on each pencil, simulating a colourful world index.

Biografias. Alicia Martin created this book waterfall in Madrid, using 5000 books.

Pergola. Designers Claude Cormier and associates created thisfor the Biennale of Contemporary Art using 90 000 plastic balls to shape Wisteria hanging flowers, frequently used by Monet. Signifying this flower's role in French impressionism, this installation was exhibited in Havre City Hall, France.

Although criticised as mundane and overrated, this creative pool noodle 'wall' in Quebec City created quite a stir. It was created by Les Astronautes as part of an architectural installation called Delirious Frites.

The Sequence. By Arne Quinze in Brussels, Belgium.

Phone Cabinet Aquarium, Japan, created by a group of young Japanese artists who call themselves Kingyobu.

Jewelry Urban art by Liesbet Bussche in the Netherlands.

Old bicycles made into a fence in Columbia. Rural, but innovative and creative.

Rua Direita - Aveiro hosted the filming of a commercial of Italian biscuits.

Car cemetary in France.

Creativity is a gift. I loved being a participator instead of a spectator.
