Lockdown 118

Lockdown Day 118 - 22 July 2020

Amidst all the rumours of schools being closed again, I was once again reminded how surreal this whole situation is. Today this absurd situation reminded me of the Berlin Wall where, in 2009, we had the chance to stand where the wall was. It was erected in 1961 to stop East Berliners fleeing into West Berlin because life in the communist bloc was unbearable (This sounds almost like Trump and his Mexican wall). 

The East Berlin regime decided to lay 30 miles of barbed wire between the two parts of Berlin to stop the exodus of people from East to West Berlin, which was later fortified by two cement walls with the famous death strip in-between where many East Berliners played survivor roulette. After the Iron curtain started buckling, the wall came down on 9 November 1989. The fall of the wall was frequently referred to as the reshaping of the modern world.  

Little did they know, a mere 31 years later something else unseen is going to hold the entire globe in a vice grip. Talk about reshaping the world. 2020 has become the year our inner walls are falling. We are confronted by our deepest fears and our inner boundaries are being pushed, testing our inner strengths. 

The key word here is the word unseen. This is the domain of the spirit world.  This explains why many people are anxious about this abominable virus, because it is invisible to the human eye. What they don't realise it is the very realm in which God operates. This is the true key to survival. This is Hís realm. God also operates in the unseen world as the Lord of lords. 

So it stands to reason if we stay in Him, we are also operating in the spirit realm (what else is prayer, other than spiritual warfare).  John 4:24 describes this perfectly, "For God is a Spirit, and he longs to have sincere worshipers who worship and adore him in the realm of the Spirit and in truth.” Maybe it's time for us to grab hold of our proverbial torches, leave the tribal council and go light up the world that doesn't see what's really going on, because this is what survivors for Christ do! 

Because we are backed by the Lion of Judah. 

And, because He's really got this.
