Lockdown 100

Lockdown Day 100 - 4 July 2020
Saturday replay: Vitality rewards buy free coffee for us. We were met with long sit down queues at all the restaurants. For a moment I imagined everything as it was.

We made a stop at our local butcher on the way home. While waiting in the car, I watched the people drive by, walk in and out of the little shops, and some standing in the sun with a take-away cuppa in hand. Saturday vibes with people buying charcoal, and braai things for tonight. For a moment I imagined everything as it was.

Back at home, while moving the washing into the sun, I saw a family walk towards the little dam to feed the ducks. The children played and laughed, forgetting about masks and sanitiser.
For a moment I imagined everything as it was.

For me, everything-as-it-was means my soul needs to be as free as my spirit. I am reminded of a scripture in John 8:36 that reads, "So if the Son liberates you [makes you free men], then you are really and unquestionably free." According to many Greek interpreters this freedom only comes once you live in Christ, a freedom which no power can restrain.

This freedom is in the spirit where we can soar like eagles without restraint. So to this brain, it seems the trick is to get your soul to live subject to your spirit. Every single moment of every single day.

It means to be mindful in the moment, switched on at all times to follow God's prompts and to recover all the muchness I seem to have lost along the way.

Never throw away the memory of how-it-was, but draw on it so yóú become really and unquestionably free. Allowing this memory will activate John 8:36. So take a step into His freedom on this, the 100th day of Lockdown, because God has really and unquestionably got this!
