Lockdown 101

Lockdown Day 101 - 5 July 2020
Day 101. Proof that 100 days have actually passed. This is incredible. We are incredible. Today we awoke with the sun cheerfully entering our room, the quiet outside reminiscent of the first weeks of Lockdown when no one went anywhere. A perfect day in the Free State winter is windless, with a clear sky and a warm winter sun, heating up the body. I spent some time in the green room just listening to the sounds around me, tuning into nature and out of humankind for a moment.

We got to know ourselves and our nearest and dearest intimately, learned to dance with a mask down the shop's aisle, became quite good at cleaning and baking and found even our matchboxes had room for an exercise circuit! We learned who were the midnight snackers and who couldn't get up in the morning, which ones had food fetishes and which ones were the scavengers and secret eaters. And found there was room for everyone.

We have withered the virus storm for 100 days. We have overcome. In these past 100 days we have seen anxiety replaced with peace, and fear replaced with L♥️VE. Our faith and hope has grown into trust. The God kind. Together they make a powerful weapon to keep going with, keep finding sense and purpose.
In the words of 1 Corinthians 13:13, "
And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love."
