Lockdown Day 98 - 2 July 2020
Shakespeare said, "To be or not to be, that is the question." To me, it should rather be, "To dream or not to dream...."
True to a little girl's nature, I dreamed of many things. I dreamed of becoming a mirage fighter pilot. I dreamed of becoming a famous rock star. I dreamed of making my own chocolate truffles (I never did but the addiction stuckš¤©). With time, I realised I could do them all, but they weren't my passion. Except one.
Ever since I can remember, I've dreamed of swimming with dolphins. Once I got the chance to meet one up close and personal, and even got a kiss! There is something about this mammal that makes my heart go marshmallow. They have the most complex extra-sensory system I feel strangely drawn to and wholly connected to. So I decided to do a little research and find out if I'm just a blonde imagining things.
So I found more than enough to confirm my attraction:
80-90% of people and specifically autistic children became calmer and more focused, communicating more clear and pronouncing words better.
75% of people and autistic children displayed better eye contact and emotional behaviour after dolphin therapy.
The reason for these numbers is because of the dolphin's ultrasound emissions. Ultrasound is widely used by the medical community in healing therapy. A dolphin's ultrasound blast is four times stronger than conventional therapy. The fact that this blast is delivered through water makes for a 60% better sound transference than air, to a body made up of 70% fluid. This ultrasound resonates particularly well with cerebrospinal fluid in the brain and spinal chord.
Now here's the kicker: it is proven that our brain waves change from beta to theta after a dolphin encounter, inducing a psychoimmune response, strengthening the immune system and synchronizing the left and right brain activity. WOW.
Basically, the dolphin’s intense sound waves create compression and expansion that form small bubbles in the cell membrane. In turn, these bubbles facilitate the transport of key neurological molecules from outside to inside the brain cells. (even when you're a blondeš¤£)
So, of course most of us can't go for our daily therapy swim with dolphins everyday. For now, a simulation will have to suffice. Seeing as my pet love are Dusky Dolphins I decided to share with you a video of these magnificent extrasensory beings. Keep watching as our camera person first films them above water and the joins them below.
I wish for you to be blown away as well as reminded of our Creator who thought it good to put them there. A reminder of how awesome He is and that if can look after them in the wide open sea, He can look after us too. A reminder that God's definitely got this.
To swim with dolphins is definitely on my bucket list! Even more so after reading all the info!
