Lockdown 111

Lockdown Day 111 - 15 July 2020

111 Days of Lockdown has passed. 

111 days from now would be 3 Nov 2020. We have been in Lockdown for a little longer than a quarter of a year, and almost a third of a year. 

To move forward and figure out the future, we need to deal with the past 111 days. In my mind a year is a specific graphic in my brain files. It looks like a timeline made up of a downhill highway, decorated with the seasons of the year. January is always in the mountains and December on the beach.

So the 2020 road took a detour. Our last 111 days took us from the highway down an off-ramp onto a cul de sac with a merry-go-round in. The trick is to change the merry-go-round into a revolving door, in other words an exit into the future. An on-ramp to the downhill road we call normal life. 

I believe we can, in spite of regulations and laws, decide to go there in our spirit, get out of the proverbial hamster wheel, by building an on-ramp to the future. In trauma conseling the human spirit can do this by discarding negative thoughts and choices and taking on board everything uplifting and positive. 

But the most lasting effect is created by the Word of God. That is what constructs an on-ramp and stops the revolving door from taking us back to where we were. 

To me 111 signifies the triune God, Father Son and Spirit, together they are ONE. We were made in His image, also being threefold. Body, soul and spirit. When we tap into His Word, God provides the foundation for the rest of our life, and future. 

111 also signifies our steps, one by one by one at a time, and before we know it, we will have gotten out of this, because God's got this!
