Lockdown Day 226 - 7 November 2020
Today was a day of early walking and resting. The free state was in for a hot day and we felt it towards the end of our walk. The rest of the day was spent doing house tasks and resting, also catching up on reading and a favourite tv programme two.
Two things happen in the weeks preceding a relocation. One is you start imagining doing certain day to day things in the "new" living space. Such as making coffee and sitting down to enjoy it. Or taking out the trash. The other thing that happens is you become increasingly detached from the present living space. Or even irritated with the space you're about to leave.
Every place has its own "persona" and you adapt to life within that by getting to know the roads and shortcuts, best place to get fresh produce, etc. And before long you start driving certain routes automatically, settling into a new shopping/working routine. Later you can barely believe you were dependent on google maps and waze. And then, when you happen to visit your previous town a few years on, you find you have forgotten certain routes, addresses and places.
Way back when we moved from Harrismith to Pretoria, after I once said to someone, "I feel like Moses who desperately needed God to move with them", a wise lady said to me, "You won't ever move alone, He will be alongside you no matter what."
From then on, I always sought God's presence within the move, and later putting my roots down firmly in Him as my foundation.
"Now then, I pray, if I have found grace in Your eyes, show me Your ways, so that I may know You, so that I might find favor in Your sight. Consider also that this nation is Your people.” “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest,” He answered.

Exodus 33:13-14
God is the best packer and mover there is. And He's got this.
