The beach delivered. In spades. No wait, in NaCl, H2O and O2. Not to mention vitD. Researching all this heavenly goodness, I found a few interesting things. I wondered what are the healing benefits of walking on salty earth.
First, plenty of vit D is available just by being on the beach, even if it is cloudy. It improves your mood, calcium absorption and autoimmune responses.
Salty earth and seawater also provides minerals such as potassium, iodine and magnesium. It is the best anti-ageing treatment for free.
Walking bare feet on moist or wet sand triggers absorption of electrical energy from the earth, a process called earthing, which is said to provide many health benefits. Your feet have between 3000 and 7000 nerve endings with the most sensitive parts between the toes and in the arch. When walking barefoot on the sand the stimulation of your proprioceptive system is activated, helping you to connect with the world around you.
In my line of work proprioception is key to our living life as a whole and connected human being. It is a hidden sense and provides the brain with information about the body such as position in space, proximity of the body in and around other people or things and works closely with the vestibular system governing balance and equilibrium.
The combination of air, salt and water from heaven is priceless and not only cleanses us physically, but also makes the way for spiritual cleansing. It frees up space much like when you delete redundant files off your pc's hard drive. By doing that you declutter your brain and create a renewed sense of awareness in your spirit for the presence of the Holy Spirit.
