Lockdown Day 228 - 9 November 2020
We drove to PE in a light drizzle, praying the Lord will provide for this catchment area, as their dam has been dry for a while now, running on literally rock bottom reserves and sludge.
On the local radio station we hear the beaches have been closed. (what?) Apparently three life guards were tested positive with the abominable virus. It got me thinking. The beach is washed with a 100% saturated salt solution, nature's best sanitiser. Why on earth close it!? I don't buy the safety reasons, because from of old the people who go swimming have not been babysitted 24/7.
And what about walking on the beach. The salt factor is better than any shop floor or even your own bathroom floor. This is like not being allowed to try on clothes at some shops. Really? They are only kidding themselves. As with the beach, the reason for its closure, these shops say it is for protection against the virus.
How do you protect people by allowing the clothes to go to someone's home for a maximum time of a few weeks, then having to take them back not knowing where they were, and with whom they've been in contact with. It just makes no sense. The customer has to buy all the sizes, go home and then go to all the trouble of going back to get a refund for the items they don't want.
As far as the beach goes, no reason holds water. It is in the sun, plenty of wind and fresh air plus so much salt all over. Then they should ban ALL outdoor activities. You have a better chance to eat pork in Israel than contract the virus here. This virus is good but not that good. It operates on human idocy. Not wearing a mask or sanitising, spending hours in close proximity of other people in a mall, now that would be a risk.
All this talk about the sea has really inspired me to go sea if I can go for a walk in the sand and get some of God's sanitizer on my skin....not to mention rain, the best fresh water from heaven.
Cheers!
