Lockdown 137

Lockdown Day 137 - 10 August 2020
Today, public holiday or not, house cleaning was still on the agenda. I opted to divide the task into last night and this morning so I could spend the rest of the day catching up on much
awaited reading and spending time with my other half. After the dusty winds battered us the past week, the layer of red dust in the house was unbelievable.

This got me thinking about colours from the earth.
It is just amazing how earth or ground can be all the shades of red and brown, and yet, together with water and gases produce the most amazing rocks and stones in colours unimaginable and bling no man can copy.

I thought about us humans and wondered, seeing as God created us, did He also instill specific preferences for colour, just like he instilled specific brain preferences?
I truly believe He did. Our spirit is pre-loaded with everything we need to live this life. And when we ask Jesus into our life, His Spirit downloads our ability to extract all the data that defines our specific skill set given to us by Him.

It appears the research done on colour preferences has to date not been very extensive, although it would seem everyone who has written a paper on this agree about one thing: specific people have a specific colour preference which does link with their persona in some way or another.

This preference is also stated as not really being the colour you would choose for your walls or clothing, but rather the colour you are drawn to in your spirit. The colour that moves you, draws you in and evokes emotion of some sort.

So, lets do an exercise:
Imagine you are in a building with one long corridor with many rooms. The furnishings in each room is identical:
no windows, one large recliner chair, a hanging chair, pillows of different sizes, very soft carpeting and strategic lighting. All (walls too) in one colour.
Every room has a different colour.
Imagine walking down this corridor and all the doors are open, letting a beam of whatever colour the room is, out into the passage.

Your instruction is to walk down the corridor through all these beams of  coloured light emitted by each room. Thereafter you need to choose one (at the most 3) that speak to you. You have to spend at least an hour in total in one of them.

Where do you think you would most likely end up spending time? If you like, write down which colour(s) you would have chosen, and why you think it (they) stood out. (PS you are allowed to take anything with you into the room(s) ... such as your cell, a book, coffee, whatever)

I am sure none of us would have the same scenario, nor take the same things with us, proving the variety of our design and the unlimited facets of our Designer.

This diversity is what makes life worthwhile. This is what gives us purpose and the will to be present. Because God made it all for us and Him to enjoy. He truly gets us. And yes, He's got this.
