Lockdown 436

Lockdown Day 436- 5 June 2021
Today we drove about 12 km south along the coast to a little place called Sea View. While hubby was on a mission to find a hard enough stone to chop wood on, I walked down onto the pebbled sand and climbed over the rocks to a suitable 'seat'.

In front of me was the theatre of Sea View's spectacular coastline and I was the most captive audience of one. To sit this close to the rolling waves, crashing in over the rocks, the sound a steady drumroll-like motion, soft like a kettle drum and a little louder than white noise.

In between the big sounds I could hear the flute-like trickle of the retracting water through the many mini troughs carved in between the ragged rocks. And every now and again a distinct rainmaker sound emerges when the waves are large.

And of course, the visual accompaniment to all this was second to none. The tidal pools looked like glass, mirroring the cloud dotted sky, framed by rushing breakers on the one side and ragged rocks on the other.

We ended off the day by taking a scenic drive up onto a lookout point close to where we live, from where we could see the lights of the city, harbour and ships at sea.
So as I close my eyes, I return to the Sea View symphony permanently etched into my memory. And I thank God for His blessings and for having everything in His control.
