Lockdown Day 262 - 13 December 2020
We slept in untill 09h30 and woke up bushed but happy and content. Who could've imagined the wedding could turn out such a seamless event of joy.
Lukas and I walked to town on the beach pathway, taking in the morning mist Swakop is known for. Hubby met us in town and we went to greet/thank our new in-law family and the newlyweds.
Before long it was time to visit Christine for birthday cake and coffee where we sat on the stoep overlooking the ocean.
Our day came to an end with pizza and glühwein in a cold misty Swakopmund. In general I'm not a pizza lover, mostly because they are not made the way I like them: Ultra thin crispy crust, a little more topping than the Italians do, but not overloaded, and lastly, a little more than usual mozarella cheese.
But the Wurstbude understand my pizza requirements and it tasted heavenly. Ian, Alna, Lukas, hubby and myself chatted about life, love and good friends.
So tonight I muse over the wedding weekend we so looked forward to. But we will leave having no regrets, because we did everything we set out to do and savoured every moment. Now the memory will live on in our minds and close to our hearts and we will forever be tied to Namibia.
cheers on that! ☺
