Lockdown Day 254 - 5 December 202
This morning I slept in, and woke up with a steady curtain of soft rain and the sound of the little stream running through the green belt.
Although I had slept, I still felt the effect of working day and night for 11 days flat. And I suppose we will feel it for a while.
The subtext of moving house writes itself and doesn't stop until you wake up one morning, and start living in stead of just surviving. Its when you get into your car and drive to wherever without having to follow Waze/Google, but rather go there automatically.
It was a cool day, just right for tackling boxes in the garage. Thereafter I started on my plans for the kitchen. The scullery got its drawer cabinet and frames with washing instructions, etc, the kitchen got its retro vibe with LED lights flooding the floor with colour and a number of pictures found their place. L&L (hubby and junior) were wonderful today, what with all these DIY tasks, dropping off boxes and running errands.
We made hamburgers for dinner just in time before a power outtage and retired for another deserved night's sleep, happy and satisfied with a good day's work.
I lie in bed looking out the window at the cloud covered night sky partially lit up by city lights. The tree tops sway in the wind and I can still hear the stream running off to wherever it is that it goes. I am reminded of a scripture in Job 26:8-9 that says, "He wraps up the waters in His clouds, yet the clouds do not burst under them. He covers the face of the full moon, spreading His clouds over it."
