Lockdown Day 741-6 April 2022
Every person on earth has seen, felt or experienced this love in one way or another, whether they know it or not. Unconditional love does not enact entitlement nor expects anything in return.
Jesus did not look at the world and say, "no way am I going to hang on a cross for thát lot, really, are you serious?" He had all the right to refuse because of His pure innocence. But He decided to go ahead and give up His life to save humanity, so we can have eternal life.
No conditions, contracts or questions asked. No performance required or work to do to earn this life. All He wants, is the same unconditional love back.
Easy.
However, humanity decided to offer a contract of bondage. And forgot how to love. Unconditionally.
After 35years of marriage, I am grateful for the unconditional love we both were able to practice and grow, and for the grace of God to let us do so.
For the learning curve of being a parent who loves unconditionally, looking past entitlement and unmet expectations of youthful zeal.
And for Jesus allowing us to return time after time to His unconditional love, even if we don't deserve any of it at all.
And on top of that, He's still got this.
