Lockdown 665

Lockdown Day 665- 20 January 2022

This morning was Roxy's turn for her walk along the promenade. The cool wind was welcome after the last couple of days' heat.

Today wasn't any different as the unbearable heat trumped Day 660 with the temperature soaring to 36°C out.
Hanging up washing was a challenge as I felt the heat burn onto my skin. It was as if the hole in the ozone layer was parked right above me.

In Gauteng this kind of heat leads to thunderstorms. In the Eastern Cape it just causes a viral wind. At least the wind is cool and brings relief from heat related ailments and fatigue.
We walked at Schoenmakerskop where the sun was making its way into the sea behind the evening sea mist, almost looming like a scene from an eerie movie.

Lying in bed, listening to the wind plucking at the windows, I am grateful for the cool air flooding the little townhouse.

So tonight I offer up a prayer of thanks for a 100% full Kouga dam I firmly believe we will see after 7years of extreme drought. And also for those who are struggling for their lives as a result of it.

I fall asleep knowing God's got this.
