Lockdown Day 646- 1 January 2022
The first thing we did on this first day of 2022, was to go and dive in Onrus waters. While Lukas was scouring the seabed, I opted to slowly 'reverse' into the little cove. It was overcast with an occasional drizzle drifting in from the ocean.
Lying on my back like an otter with my head up, moving my short fins slowly, it felt like zooming out to see the big picture.
Stopping just before the ocean's swells at the edge of the cove I just 'hung' there in the water as the next drizzle came in. The mountain was shrouded in rain clouds and the ocean breeze was pushing the ever so slight swells into the cove.
I could smell the rain and the salt and took in the moment of wonder. I realised that very few people would go swim in the 15°C ocean in a quiet cove in the rain on the first day of a new year. It was in this moment I felt as if God was putting His countenance, power and beauty on show.
And like a whisper in the waters, He confirmed this is an "O2" year.
All I need to do is come back to this feeling of total reliquishment, lie back and trust Him with all I have. And breathe. Because He's got this.
