Tonight's image focus is on historical happenings one could not think could've happened in the same year:
Marilyn Monroe and Queen Elizabeth were both born in 1926. Here they meet at a movie première in 1956:
Anne Frank and Martin Luther King were both born in 1929, both being symbols of resistance in their own way:
The movie Star Wars came out in 1977, the same year the last Guillotine execution was carried out in France:
1843 was the year the Fax machine was invented. In that same year, the first oxwagon crossed the Oregon trail:
Did you know...... you could take The London Underground to the last public hanging in the UK in 1868!:
In 1997 Princess Diana and Mother Theresa died just days apart;
Diana died in Paris on 31 August and Mother Theresa died in India on 5 September:
After proposing his continental drift theory in 1912 of which he could not explain the force behind it, Alfred Wegener died in 1930, with scientists still at odds on the theory of plate tectonics.
In 1967, this theory was accepted by the geo-scientific community.
