Lockdown Day 408 - 8 May 2021
Wondering if the diamond man's words weren't spoken to make her feel better about a flawed stone, Jean walks home in silence, the diamond virtually burning a hole in her inner jacket pocket. At home, she reaches into a small container on the top shelf inside her cupboard, pulling out a small diamond shaped glass terrarium. She had kept this gift from her late father, but never used it, knowing her gardening skills always failed epically.
She made her way to the bay window upstairs, carefully placing the terrarium on the window sill in the sun. She took the diamond from her pocket and placed it inside carefully, making sure it is stable.
As Jean turned to go and make a cup of coffee, she noticed a blue dot on the door frame of the room. Wondering what it could be, she reached out and touched it. When the dot appeared on her hand, her heart jumped. She spun around and saw a single ultra-thin beam of deep blue light shining out of the diamond to the door frame.
Her heart skipped a beat. She stared at it incredulously, her brain having trouble accommodating this phenomenon she was looking at with her own eyes.
After brushing aside everything the diamond man had said, she expected nothing from the stone.
