Lockdown 540

Lockdown Day 540 - 17 September 2021

Friday! Today is Sacramento Restaurant's birthday and I decided to go for a coffee and hopefully sit outside and do a bit of whale watching.

The timing was perfect and the sun came out as I arrived, so I chose a quiet outside table. While waiting for my coffee I received a shot of complimentary sherry as part of their birthday celebrations. The whales also came out to play as if they knew there was a birthday on hand.

Once again it was a treat to watch them breaching with great splashes and blows. I counted five, but I'm willing to bet there were many more! One in particular gave a show of alternating fin and tail slapping and a few breaches one after another.

The ocean was dark and slightly choppy with thick black clouds on the horizon. I really believe the whales love stormy weather, responding to the salty waters' invitation to play.

Being a water baby myself, I imagine the water all around me. I realise I'm drying out and in need of a salty swim! Swimming makes summer good and I look forward to that!
