Lockdown Day 358 - 19 March 2021
We left at 5 am for Bloem this morning, cruising through an awakening Jozi, surprised by the mild traffic already bustling about. We saw the sun rise on the outskirts of Potch over the goldfields, the fading Jozi smog making for great colours.
Soon enough the Free State was lying wide open in front of us. We stopped for a coffee break at Ventersburg, reaching Bloem just after 9.
Going back to where you have once lived has a certain nostalgia to it. For us, it was a soft landing after 6 years in Namibia.
The connection is mostly strengthened and fed by all the friends and colleagues who have walked deep paths into our hearts. We will always hold you dear, no matter where we go.
The IMM trio, N, A and the Stereo crew made today special and most enjoyable, and as someone remarked, "it feels like you've never been gone".
Dinner at Izzy's was laid-back, lazy and the perfect Friday afternoon stoepkuier with her Mom and M.
I retire with the friends are friends forever song playing in my head and a happy heart, thankful to be here.
