Lockdown Day 685- 9 February 2022
The West wind continued, helping to flatten the ocean, leaving a glossy surface in which to enjoy a swim in.
The waves were completely saturated with red sea plants, signifying the arrival of a "red tide".
A red tide is caused by the presence of red algae, turning the water a dark reddish brown colour.
Because of a high nutrient content in the water brought in by the east wind as well as cold water, these algal blooms move in to feed.
Problem is, they produce toxins that can kill all marine life around it. Fishing or diving for fish or shellfish is generally prohibited, as these toxins can cause harm to people.
Fortunately, for the people of the Bay swimming is still allowed and beaches are open, while East Londen saw their beach access closed pending tests to determine the toxicity of the tide.
And so it is with our lives as children of God. We may find ourselves faced with challenges, thinking we're surrounded, but God always has a way out.
All we need to do is step back and look at the big picture. The solution will present itself when you zoom out and look around.
