Lockdown 192

Lockdown Day 192- 4 October 2020
Birthdays, especially those in Lockdown, should celebrate life and love....... and a gluttonous Sunday lunch. We said goodbye to Louis and Nina at first light, went for a walk and after church, left for a buffet with friends Peet and Marna to celebrate hubby's birthday.

My memories of buffets do not do this one justice. This buffet has no equal. With more than 8 amazing meat dishes ranging from various lamb and beef dishes to pulled pork. The really outstanding veg included real "soetpatats" and fabulously crispy roast everything.
We were spoiled for choice and even with a miniature sample of everything, our plates looked overloaded. And literally everything tasted superb.

Desert also had much to offer with the ultra moist spicy carrot cake my favourite. After coffee we had to summon the strength to leave without looking like pot-bellied aliens who survived an all-you-can-eat lunch.

We spent the afternoon recuperating in a horizontal fashion, feeling the after effects of our gluttony, vowing never to put ourselves through this again.
This made me think of a friend who runs the comrades marathon each year. And every year after finishing she always exclaims, "Never again!", only to repeat the exercise the following year.😅

Tonight as I stand in the cool air of the green room, watching the clouds drift by the full moon, I thank God for His grace towards our lacking faith and human error, and for His muchness in mercy He imparts when we boldly aporoach His throne in praise! Thank you God for holding us in the palm of Your Hand. And that You've got this too.
